Important therapeutic component in all stages of CKD
In cats with chronic kidney disease (CKD) and advanced stages (IRIS Phase III + IV), the use of a phosphate binder makes an important contribution to therapy. However, even in early phases (IRIS I + II) and in older animals with age-related weakening kidney function, the administration of a phosphate binder is already recommended to counteract a deterioration in organ health.
Flexible alternative for diet change
If switching to a phosphate-reduced renal diet is difficult or if the cat does not accept it at all, administering a phosphate binder with the usual "normal" food is a suitable alternative until the transition to the new food has been successful.
